Today, we're excited to share a story from one of our paddlers, Megan, whose inflatable paddleboard became her ticket to rediscovering a passion for the outdoors.

Megan's Story: From Burnout to Breakthrough

Megan is a full-time nurse from Seattle, juggling long shifts, busy weekends, and the constant demands of a high-stress job. As a former college athlete, she missed the days of outdoor adventures but struggled to find time for herself. On a whim, she decided to give paddleboarding a try and ordered the Buoy Watersports Echo Stand Up Paddleboard.

“The first time I took it out, I fell in the water about ten times,” Megan laughs. “But honestly, that was the best part. It made me realize how much I needed to laugh at myself and just let go.”

What started as a weekend experiment quickly became a ritual. Every Sunday morning, Megan loads her inflatable paddleboard into the trunk, grabs a thermos of coffee, and heads to Lake Union. It’s her peaceful escape—a moment of calm in the chaos.

“One morning, a seal popped up right next to my board,” she shares. “We just stared at each other for a few seconds before it dove back under. I think that was the moment I knew this was going to be a lifelong thing.”

Megan has even introduced paddleboarding to her coworkers, organizing group paddles for those needing a break from their hectic schedules. Her paddleboard, once a way to find personal peace, has now become a way to build community and encourage others to take a moment for themselves.
